Welcome to Heidelberg Lodge!
Heidelberg’s ideal location on the N3 highway between Johannesburg and Durban, only 50km from Johannesburg, 40km from the Johannesburg international airport, 50km from the Vaal river and makes it readily accessible to and indeed part of, the entire Gauteng, the heart land of South Africa.
The town has excellent medical facilities, caters for all religious denominations, has 5 shopping centres and boasts an exceptional range of sporting and recreational facilities.
Heidelberg sits nestled at the eastern end of the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve, a large tract of land that is home to Gautang’s highest point, almost 2000 meters above sea level. Heidelberg developed as a typical rural Victorian town. Any buildings dating back to the period between 1890 and 1910 have been preserved. In addition, Heidelberg was home to G Visser a well loved medical doctor and famous Afrikaans poet. His home only open to the public by appoint, can still be seen situated close to the main road through town and our neighbours!
